As a local real estate professional I believe that every city in the South Bay has something unique to offer my clients. As a long time resident of Hermosa Beach it’s hard to imagine living anywhere else.
So what does make Hermosa Beach so special?
Unlike the neighboring cities of Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach, Hermosa is a very small city. With less than 1.5 square miles, Hermosa Beach offers a sense of community and charm that it’s larger neighbors just can’t duplicate. Hermosa Beach is truly a small town and with one elementary school, one middle school it’s hard not to feel like you know just about everyone.
Although it has a reputation as a town of beach bums, that aspect pretty much disappeared long ago. With median home prices over $1,000,000 it is a very upscale beach town but has still retained a genuine feeling of old school beach town. That reputation as a town of beach bums, may have actually helped the town keep it’s identity as there are few people that move here because it’s the “in” place to live.
Most residents live here because they want to…it is not a town of residents passing through, not a town of people “willing” to live here until something better comes along. To most residents there is nowhere better and most people truly enjoy living here and living at the beach. People walk down to The Strand every night
just to watch the sunset and most have a big smile on their faces while doing so.
Add to the small town community feel full of happy people the almost perfect weather, endless community events including Fiesta Hermosa, Concerts on the Beach, St Patricks Parade, and one of the nices beaches in the world and it’s hard to find much not to like.
